House washing (soft house washing) is the process of cleaning the exterior of a property without the use of a high pressure washer. High pressure washers are generally best kept for hard surfaces such as concrete driveways, as softer surfaces such as brick or sandstone walls can often break up under the extreme pressure of the pressure washing water jets.

Soft washing involves the use of specialist tools, as well as environmentally friendly detergents in some cases, to wash away dirt and grime, leaving a clean, undisturbed surface below.
